ABOUT THE DESIGN |
ABOUT THE KIT |
The titular vehicle in the NBC TV series, the "seaQuest DSV" was a massive deep sea vehicle operated by the United Earth Oceans Organization. The submarine was part mechanical and part organic, allowing it to move with more speed and agility than any submarine before it. Its squid-like shape made it one of the most original submarine concepts ever to come out of Hollywood -- and it was also one of the first sci-fi vehicles to be realized in pure CGI! |
This Monogram kit
was huge, measuring well over a foot-and-a-half from stem to stern. Its
exterior was also very well textured, allowing modelers to have a field-day
painting its mottled color scheme. This was one of four "seaQuest"
kits released by Monogram early in the show's three-year run.
This model was built from an original issue. |
